The AK-74M (Kalashnikov 74 Modernized) is a selective-fire, gas-operated assault rifle chambered in 5.45×39mm. It is the main service rifle in use in the Russian Army and is an improved variant of the AK-74. The rifle incorporates a new solid side-folding polymer buttstock, as well as an improved bolt and carrier assembly.

Ein Klassiker der Waffentechnik. Die Lieferung war schnell und diskret. Der Zusammenbau und die Handhabung sind, wie zu erwarten, extrem einfach. Was mich beeindruckt hat, ist die Langlebigkeit. Ich habe gelesen, dass ein AK-74M im Dauerfeuertest 587 Schuss abgefeuert hat, bevor der Lauf platzte — das ist weit mehr als die geforderten 180 Schuss. Das spricht für die legendäre Kalaschnikow-Qualität. Das Gewicht des Automaten mit seinen 3,4 kg ist für eine vollwertige Ordonnanzwaffe mehr als in Ordnung. Allerdings ist die Ergonomie, wie erwähnt, nicht mehr auf dem neuesten Stand. Es fehlen moderne Picatinny-Schienen für Optiken, was für den heutigen Einsatz ein Nachteil ist. Trotzdem, für den Preis und die Zuverlässigkeit ein starkes Stück Technik.
Finally got my hands on this. The seller arranged a discreet drop near the river — found the package, opened it, and there it was. This is the standard-issue Russian military rifle for good reason. The 5.45x39mm round is a tack-driver, low recoil makes it very controllable on full auto, and the folding polymer stock is rock-solid. I've already put 500 rounds of cheap ammo through it without a single hiccup. The cleaning kit fits perfectly in the stock, and I loaded up my pouches with 6 mags and extra ammo packs just like they teach in the field manual. It's a true workhorse. Feels like a piece of history you can actually rely on.
Заказал и не могу нарадоваться! Вспомнил службу в конце 90-х, у нас такие же были. Забрал в поле у старого дуба, как договаривались. Всё в масле, пахнет металлом и порохом. В руках — родное! Да, дерева нет, чёрный пластик, но он выносливый, полиамид ПА6-211ДС, не боится ничего. Приклад складной, удобно в машине или в рюкзаке. Отдача вообще никакая по сравнению с АКМ, пуля 5.45 как игла, кучно ложится. Сразу на полигон — на 300 метров в "молочную" мишень с закрытого прицела лёг все пули. Простота — божественная, разобрать-собрать можно с закрытыми глазами даже в грязи, именно это я и помню по армии. Мечта, а не автомат!
